If I felt I was in a dangerous area I probably would lock my car doors so nobody would try to rob me while I was sitting at a red light.

Just as my car will continue to chime at me until I fasten my seat belt, it will lock the doors when I shift out of Park, and keep them locked until I've turned off the engine and removed the key from the ignition. Sort of spooky the way a car can get you to do what it wants you to do just by being either annoying or overbearing, actually.

My car automatically does that for me, and won't let me out until I've put the transmission in park and turned the engine off.
