I have a 2011 Kia Soul 1.6L 5-spd. I am looking to flush the stock fluid and replace it with something a little more high quality...I am stuck between AMSOIL MTF and Royal Purple Synchromax. Stock Kia's use a "half" synthetic aka blend. I am looking to go full synthetic..any experience with the above products or any others that I should be made aware of? Thanks in advance.

If the fluid that comes with the transmission is an ATF, then he should stick with an ATF-type fluid like RP Synchromax. It works fairly well with my manual transmission. Gear oil was too slippery and the synchronizers didn't work properly.

I have not tried AMSOIL yet, but have used Royal Purple products for many years. I have used the Royal Purple oil in a 1990 Dodge Ramcharger, 2 Dodge Dakota's (both 1996) and a 92 Cavilier Z24, a 2007 Cobalt and a 2010 F150. I got a slight increase in fuel mileage with each vehicle. I also used the Royal Purple ATF in the Ramcharger, 1 of the Dakota's and Cavilier and they all ran great. I was going to put it in my new truck (2010 F150 FX4) but it is not compatible with the trans I have.
